Public Notice and Certification to
Convene Virtual July Board Meetings
(in accordance with Section 4 of Proclamation 30 JBE 2020, and  subsequent Proclamations 41 JBE 2020, Section 4 (E) and 52 JBE 2020, Section 4 (E) and 58 JBE 2020 and Proclamation 84, Section 2 (C))

The Board of Commissioners of the Regional Planning Commission of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes (hereinafter known as the RPC), and the Transportation Policy Committee thereto, have scheduled Regular Monthly Meetings for Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

On March 13, 2020, the Governor of Louisiana issued Proclamation 27 JBE 2020, declaring a Public Health Emergency in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Louisiana. Additional measures to ensure public safety and limit the spread of COVID-19 were further enacted on March 16, 2020 by Proclamation 30 JBE 2020, and on April 30, 2020 by Proclamation 52 JBE 2020, Proclamation 58 JBE 2020 Phase 1 of Resilient Louisiana Section 5 and additionally by Proclamation 84, Section 2 C which provides for restrictions on public gatherings, as well as imposes limits on in-person interactions. These additional provisions are to be in effect through July 24, 2020.

The Chair of the Board of the Regional Planning Commission of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes (hereinafter known as the RPC), and the Transportation Policy Committee thereto hereby certifies that in order to protect the welfare of the citizens of Louisiana, and in order to ensure the presence of a quorum of board members, which would otherwise not be possible under the present circumstances, it is necessary to conduct meetings on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in a virtual setting. Therefore, in accordance with Section 4 of Proclamation 30 JBE 2020, Section 4 of Proclamation 41 JBE 2020, Section 4 of Proclamation 52 JBE 2020, Section 5 of Proclamation 58 JBE 2020 and Proclamation 84, Section 2 C and in consideration of the safety and well-being of the Boards’ members, staff, and communities directly impacted by the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the Boards’ July meetings will convene remotely, via teleconferencing or videoconferencing.

Meetings on Tuesday, July 14th will begin at 12:30p.m. and will be livestreamed using the GoToWebinar.com platform. Public comments will be accepted during the livestream through the use of the chat feature. Agendas for the meetings, as well as the public link to access the livestream of the meetings will be posted on the respective Board website and distributed to our public notification list, no later than 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020.
